On this week’s episode I sit down and learn a ton from famed musician and member of the incredible bands Hed P.E. and Korn, Wes Geer. Wes has such an inspiring story of overcoming addiction and using his god given musical gifts to inspire and help others others in recovery. He cracks the code on true peace and gets real about the false narrative around creativity and getting high. I love this episode.
Wesley Geer has been a professional musician for over 20 years. He first found success as the founding member of Jive Records artist Hed P.E. as guitarist, songwriter and producer. After touring the world for eight years, Wes left the band for a lifestyle change and ultimately landed in rehab. Then in 2010, at almost three years sober, he was approached to play with the legendary band Korn. He joined Korn and worked with them as their touring guitarist for the next several years, traveling to 42 countries, headlining shows, playing to crowds of 80,000 people, and appearing on a number of recordings and cable and TV shows. His music has been featured in many feature films, video games, radio, and television shows. His new band, HU3M3N is dropping ‘ARTIFICIAL’ on all major platforms on Friday, June 4th.
Wes also has long had a passion for teaching music. Previously a music teacher at The Fusion Academy’s Huntington Beach campus, Wes taught Recording Arts, Drums, and Guitar.
Wes is also the founder of Rock to Recovery. Rock to Recovery helps people heal and transform their lives through the powerful experience of writing, playing, and performing music as a group. Part of the weekly program curriculum of more than 100 treatment centers in California, Oregon, and Tennessee. Serving veterans and their families nationally and internationally through the Air Force Wounded Warrior (AFW2) program. Rock to Recovery has 13 full-time program administrators delivering more than 500 sessions each month. They work with more than 4,000 people each month and have written more than 10,000 songs with people in treatment.
